December 13, 2002 Well,
not too much news of note for the last couple of weeks…
We
did have a surprise in the pasture on Wednesday morning – a brand new calf. He
is busy figuring out where all of those darned legs are
supposed to go when he walks, and has spent quite a bit of
time lying down and contemplating it.
I have to admit, he has the curliest coat I’ve ever
seen, and looks just like a little brown lamb. Also,
JW’s horse, Chief, has finally come to stay with us.
As clumsy as he can be, we can’t let him have free
reign of the pasture. Too
many pieces of farm equipment for him to bang his legs on!
So, we have partitioned off half of the cow pens and
shed for his humble home.
He seems to be content, and I’m sure he is happy
with the first roof over his head!
It has become my job to keep him in shape with
riding, and I’m sure that we will both be fit on no time.
Pretty rough, but I think I can handle it! So, Happy Holidays to all of you and yours. Safe journey to those of you who may be traveling. |
